Samantha, lovingly known as Sam and Sammo, was born and raised in Essex, Vermont. Her passions were anything outdoors: skiing, hiking trails, or simply hanging in her hammock drawing, listening to music, and reading.
In May 2019, Sam was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. Through countless rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, two stem cell transplants, and long hospital stays, she never stopped. She continued her studies in Environmental Engineering at Northeastern University and never stopped creating art.
Sam passed away from her disease on August 24, 2022.
Art and music were Sam’s release from the many difficulties she faced in her short life. She explored all mediums but had a particular passion for fine line drawing and decorating bottles she collected. Her beloved “plant ladies” became so popular that friends lined up for tattoo designs by Sam.
Any profit made from art purchased goes directly to The Sammo Fund Inc. A foundation established in Sam’s memory to improve the lives of families navigating a child’s cancer battle, and to protect the environment Sam loved so deeply.
